The circular medallion is the piece that does the work here — set on axis with the two garage bays, it breaks up what would otherwise read as a large uninterrupted expanse of paving and gives the approach a centre.
Pavers earn their keep on a driveway of this size. Individual units lift out and go back without a patch mark, so a future utility trench or a settled area is a repair rather than a scar.
